2010.11.19 Updated From NICHIRYO AMERICA

Introduction and seasonal report for/from our subsidiary in the USA named Nichiryo America.

Main office of Nichiryo’s subsidiary in the USA is located in St. Louis, MO, which has good accesses to major US cities due to its location in Mid-West of US.

What many people would know about St. Louis may be well-known American brewery, Budweiser, or popular baseball team, St. Louis Cardinals. But there is another aspect of city. St. Louis is actually known as one of “Bio city” in the USA.

Among various facilities, research labs and life science companies in St. Louis, Washington University St. Louis is one of top medical schools in the USA, where, of course, many Nichiryo items are being used. Here are some photos from St. Louis.

Stacked pumpkins

In this time we will show you a seasonal report from our colleague who lives in St.Louis, MO where Nichiryo America is located.

St.Louis is getting cold as October comes toward end. Temperature at morning and evening here gets around 5℃, and most of leaves are gone after showing amazing colors. It is surprising Tokyo in this time of year hardly gets less than 10℃.

Neighbors here obviously like events compared to one I had in Japan, so that we can often find ornaments at around houses. Those are mostly skeletons, ghosts and etc. As you may realize, it is Halloween.

At Halloween time, many homes decorate called “Jack-o'-lantern” made of pumpkins, and kids are looking for those pumpkins and try to get in those homes saying “Trick or Treat” to get chocolates or candies, and students are having parties with various different costume. In this year, we saw many people are disguised as Michel Jackson.

This is a place where people buy pumpkins.

Here are various Halloween pumpkins.

You see a kid between pumpkins. The pumpkins are bigger.
One pumpkin costs around 10USD.

There are also various shape of pumpkins.
Other pumpkins can be picked up from fields.

This is how you can carry pumpkins.
